Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor Athletes of the Month for November at Heritage High School. Honorees were selected by the coaches of their respective sports and were recognized with a presentation of certificates and photo opportunity on campus.
Goalkeeper Alana O’Neal helped the girls water polo team start the season with a 6-0 record.
“Alana has emerged as a dominant force in the pool,” said her coach, Shannon Stephenson. “Throughout November, she recorded more than 50 blocks, 11 assists, and 2 steals, an impressive performance that reflects both her skill and consistency. Alana’s fierceness, focus, and mental fortitude have been instrumental in securing victories and setting the tone for our 2025 season. Her impact is undeniable, and we’re proud to recognize her excellence.”
Sophomore Quentin Bailey was selected from the boys basketball team. He was the team’s leading scorer during that stretch, averaging 11.8 points and 8 rebounds.
“He continues to be a force on the court on both ends,” said coach Adrian Contreras.
The Athlete of the Month for girls soccer is senior Anastacia Martinez.
“Anastacia has helped the team transition by switching positions and moving to the defense,” said coach Michael Mattison. “She has done an outstanding job of leading the defense and ensuring that the team is competitive in all matches. She also helps transition the ball from offense to defense.”
Jacob Dalton is the boys wrestling team’s captain. “He was chosen as this month’s Athlete of the Month because of the unwavering discipline, humility, and dedication to this team that he exemplifies every single day,” said coach Preciosa Moreno. “He is not only a phenomenal wrestler, but also above all else, he shows outstanding character traits and leadership skills.”
Anais Larios-Fregozo is the girls wrestling team captain. “She was chosen as this month’s Athlete of the Month due to her persistence, dedication, and drive,” said her coach. “Her remarkable positive attitude in the face of challenges and her ability to keep pushing forward no matter what is one of the traits that truly sets her apart.”
The girls basketball team is represented by Lakaila Trimble. She scored her 1,000th career point in November. The first two games of the season, she recorded a double-double. She is currently leading the team in rebounds.
Freshman Omar Sevillano was chosen to represent the boys soccer team. He is the team’s leading scorer.
