Matthew Bellman was honored by the Menifee City Council last week as the Citizen of the Month.
Bellman, who has lived in Menifee for three years, was recognized for his efforts in fostering children and his work with the youth of the Boys & Girls Club. He and his wife Liz currently have two foster children and have fostered a total of 15 in recent years.
In addition, Matthew has been a coach for sports programs at the Boys & Girls club. Club leaders were in attendance to honor him at the meeting.
“I would like to thank my wife Liz,” Bellman said. “This is her calling, and I am able to relate to the importance of it. I would also like to thank the Boys & Girls Club for the opportunity to coach sports there. Besides my family, that has been the greatest part of my life.”
