The re-opening date circulating recently about the Bradley Road bridge won’t become reality and the bridge is estimated to re-open in early October, a City of Menifee official said today.
Phil Southard, communications director for the City, said he wasn’t sure where the rumored Sept. 22 date came from, but that it was never an official date. Ongoing construction in the project’s final phase will keep it from opening for a few more weeks. An official date has not been announced.
According to city officials, the $17.6 million project includes a 365-foot-long bridge with two lanes each way, bike lanes, and a sidewalk. This is designed to improve the flow of traffic on that north-south traffic route, as well as keep the road open during rainstorms when Salt Creek floods. A traffic signal has also been installed at Rio Vista Drive, just south of the bridge.
Bradley Road closed on Aug. 4, 2025 between Rio Vista Drive to the south and Potomac Road to the north. For more than a year, an important north-site traffic route in Menifee has been closed, forcing motorists to go east to the 215 Freeway or west to Murrieta Road to get between the Sun City area and Newport Road.
