Fire burns 7 acres at the top of Bell Mountain in Menifee

The second fire in two months burned the top of Bell Mountain in Menifee Thursday afternoon, scorching about 7 acres before firefighters extinguished it.

The fire was reported at 4:33 p.m. on the hillside northeast of Garbani Road and Pitman Lane, according to CAL FIRE. It was located just south and farther to the top of the mountain than the fire that scorched 30 acres and threatened homes on July 9. This time, no structures were threatened and no injuries reported.
