Press release from the City of Menifee:
MENIFEE — Interested in learning how local government works? The City of Menifee invites students entering their junior or senior year in the 2026-2027 school year to participate in the inaugural Menifee Leaders of Tomorrow program.
This free, eight-week youth leadership program offers students a unique opportunity to connect with local leaders, gain insights on City operations, and build valuable leadership and professional skills. Applications are now being accepted for the Fall program (Sept.17, 2026 – Nov. 12, 2026).
Menifee Leaders of Tomorrow provides students with an introduction to the inner workings of a developing city. From mentorship opportunities to engaging leadership workshops, this program empowers youth to explore careers in local government while discovering how they can make a lasting impact in their community. Participants will also develop practical skills by writing staff reports, participating in mock City Council meetings, and engaging in thoughtful discussions.
“This unique civic program provides students with insights into city operations while involving them in real-world scenarios and training,” said City Manager Armando G. Villa. “Through the Menifee Leaders of Tomorrow, we are giving our youth an opportunity to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain a better understanding of how they can play an active role in shaping our community.”
Menifee Leaders of Tomorrow is led by the City Clerk’s Department, and each session will be held on Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. beginning Thursday, Sept. 17 and ending Thursday, Nov. 12. No session will take place on Nov. 5, 2026. Participants must attend at least six of the eight sessions to graduate.
