Press release from the City of Menifee:
MENIFEE — Join the City of Menifee in honoring our fallen service members at the annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, May 25 (10 a.m. – noon). This year’s ceremony will be held at Hidden Hills Park (31727 Eaton Lane) and is free and open to the public to attend.
In partnership with Miller Jones Menifee Memorial Park & Mortuary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1956, and the Veterans and Military Families Advisory Committee, the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will include special presentations, guest speakers, a remembrance message, wreath-laying, and a flyover (weather permitting). During the ceremony, attendees will also be given flowers to place around the memorial wreath to honor their loved ones.
Commander Jeff Saville, Chaplain, United States Navy (Ret.), will deliver this year’s keynote address. Rev. Dr. Saville served as a chaplain in the United States Navy for more than 25 years, providing ministry and spiritual support through nine major assignments and four deployments. Now residing in Temecula, he continues to serve veterans and their families by conducting funeral services at Riverside and Miramar National Cemeteries.
“Menifee’s Memorial Day Ceremony brings our community together to honor and remember our nation’s heroes,” said council member Dean Deines. “It is a time to reflect on their service and pay tribute to the sacrifices that made our freedom possible.”
Limited ADA courtesy parking at Hidden Hills Park parking lot and street parking will be available. Additional overflow parking will be in the Paloma Valley High School teacher parking lot on Craig Ave (between Evans Road and Bradley Road). Care-A-Van will be providing free shuttle service to/from Hidden Hills Park between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The formal ceremony will be live streamed on Menifee TV and the City’s YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/@CityofMenifeeCali.
