An adult male pedestrian received serious head injuries Friday when he was struck by a vehicle on Bradley Road in Menifee, police said.
Menifee Police Department officers responding at 5:31 p.m. to the area of Bradley Road south of McCall Boulevard located the adult male in the roadway, being attended to by the driver of a 1999 Mercury Villager that struck the man, according to an MPD news release. The driver, an 86-year-old male resident of Menifee, had asked a bystander who heard the collision to call 911 because he didn’t have a cell phone.
The vehicle was stopped in the southbound lanes of Bradley Road. Cal Fire personnel arrived and began providing medical treatment to the pedestrian, who was suffering from major head injuries and abrasions to his hands and arms. The man was transported to a local medical center, where he is listed in unstable condition.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the driver was traveling southbound on Bradley Road and did not see the pedestrian crossing the roadway. The exact location on Bradley Road was not listed in the news release. Neither alcohol nor drugs are considered factors in the collision.
Anyone with information related to the crash is urged to contact Officer Sims at 951-723-1645 or the Traffic Unit main line at 951-.723-1500.
