Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor Athletes of the Month for April and May at Paloma Valley High School. Honorees were selected by the coaches of their respective sports and were recognized with a presentation of certificates and photo opportunity on campus.
Baseball player Wyatt Smith Wyatt “is a freshman who made a huge impact in April, batting an impressive .400 while leading the team with 7 runs scored,” said coach Jason Berni. “Wyatt consistently sparked the offense with clutch hits, aggressive baserunning, and steady play throughout the month. His contributions were instrumental in helping the team secure a spot in the CIF-SS playoffs.”
Softball pitcher Kaydence Koepsell “put PV softball on her back through the month of April, recording 49 strikeouts in April and ending the regular season with 150 strikeouts total,” said coach Ray Arredondo. “Kaydence is a standout student athlete with great character and work ethic. We are so grateful and blessed to have her in our program.”
Girls lacrosse player Eliana Orosco “is always a team leader on and off the field. She also played a key role in a lot of play development throughout the season creating scoring opportunities as well as scoring herself.
Boys lacrosse player Hunter Goldfarb “has been a rock for our team,” said coach Jeff Young. “His resilience and leadership on the team has had a huge impact. Goalkeeping is a difficult task and his can-do attitude has proven success.”
Tennis player Owen Fleck was selected as a First Team All League Sunbelt athlete.
Golfer Andrew Moreno “earned Athlete of the Month for his outstanding work ethic, leadership, and commitment throughout the golf season,” said coach Jessica Bees. “He consistently sought opportunities to improve his game, supported his team, and demonstrated dedication both on and off the course. His positive impact, competitive spirit, and commitment to growth made him a valuable part of the program.”
Mason Williams of the boys swim team “has shown his teamwork and leadership all season,” said coach Milaylah Harder. “As a freshman, he helped his relay team get a CIF consideration time and he hit a D3 CIF consideration time in backstroke. His backstroke has also earned him a spot in PVHS top 10 swim records.”
Sienna Pospisil of the girls swim team “brings leadership, strength, and genuine excitement to our program,” said coach Andrew Mares. “She qualified for the 50 and 100 freestyle at CIF.”
Track and field standout Arthur Stringer was the state runner-up in the triple jump after winning the Masters title. He was a three-time league champ. “He is our captain and he leads by example through his relentless work ethic,” coach Juan Merida said earlier this spring. “Yet he is always humble and willing to help a teammate out, coach them through their events and cheer for them.”
