The Paloma Valley High School softball team will be at home on Friday, leading a group of four Menifee area teams into the first round of the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
The Wildcats have a 21-4 overall record and were co-champions of the Sunbelt League with an 8-2 record. They will play host to Rancho Cucamonga Friday afternoon in a Division 3 game. Rancho Cucamonga is 12-16 overall and finished third in the Baseline League.

— Lynda Guerra (.463, 6 HR, 18 RBIs)
— Hailey Alarcon (.408, 18 RBIs, 21 runs)
— Brooklyn Berni (.371, 17 RBIs, 21 runs)
No.1 pitcher Kaydence Koepsell is 16-4 with a 1.32 ERA.
In another Division 3 game on Friday, Liberty (12-9) will be at home against Arcadia (15-6-2). The Bison were an at-large selection out of the Ivy League.

— Cameryn Rutkoff (.468, 6 HR, 33 RBIs)
— Savannah Oelrich (.458, 3 HR, 15 RBIs)
— Lissette Quinones (.443, 14 RBIs, 38 runs)
No. 1 pitcher Brooklyn Rackstraw is 9-3 with a 5.16 ERA.
On Thursday, Heritage (10-13) will play at Palm Desert (16-12) in a Division 6 game. Also on Thursday, Santa Rosa Academy (7-8) will be at home against Environmental Charter School of Lawndale (8-6).
Santa Rosa’s softball team shares a home field with the baseball team, which is also scheduled to play at home the same day. Because of that, the softball game has been moved to Big League Dreams in Perris.
