Two San Jacinto residents were arrested by Menifee Police officers Tuesday on suspicion of selling marijuana, tobacco, and alcohol to minors, authorities said.
The Menifee Police Department received information in February that an adult female was selling alcohol, nicotine and vape pens, THC vape pens, and mushrooms to minors, according to a news release. An investigation identified the suspect as Yuridia Guerrero, 21, of San Jacinto.
On Tuesday, with assistance from the MPD Special Enforcement Team, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by Guerrero and Kevin Ocegueda, 22, also of San Jacinto. A search of the vehicle revealed bags of nicotine and THC vape pens. Additional evidence was found at Guerrero’s San Jacinto residence, and both suspects were arrested.
Both suspects face charges of selling marijuana to minors, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, furnishing tobacco to minors, and selling alcohol to minors. The investigation indicated that the suspects were communicating with minors on social media platforms.
Guerrero and Ocegueda were booked at the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center and remain in custody. Guerrero has a court date in Murrieta on Thursday and Ocegueda has an April 29 court date.
No other information was provided by police.
