Free summer meals available at MUSD schools, libraries

The Menifee Union School District (MUSD) is providing free meals to children throughout the summer through its Seamless Summer Option program, offering both on-site meals and weekly take-home meal boxes.

The program is available to all children 18 years old and younger and runs through July 17. Meal service schedules vary by location.

Four Menifee elementary schools are serving complimentary breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, June 15-26, with no meal service on June 19. Participating campuses include Freedom Crest Elementary School, Quail Valley Elementary School, Southshore Elementary School and Táawila Elementary School. Meals at those locations must be consumed on site.

The district is also partnering with local libraries to provide lunch service. Meals are available Fridays from noon to 1 p.m. at Canyon Lake Library and Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sun City Library through July 17. Meals at the library locations must also be consumed on site.

In addition to on-site meal service, MUSD is distributing free Grab & Go meal boxes at Menifee Valley Middle School. The boxes are available for pickup by parents or guardians on Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m. through July 16. Meal boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, and families are limited to one meal box per child per week. Children must be 18 years old or younger to qualify.

Additional information, including menus, is available through the district’s Nutrition Services Department at MenifeeSchoolMeals.com.
