Santa Rosa Academy baseball team wins 12th straight game, 9-3

The Santa Rosa Academy baseball team won its 12th consecutive game and improved its record to 17-4 Thursday with a 9-3 win over Desert Christian Academy.

The Rangers scored 7 runs in the first inning in improving their South Valley League record to 13-1, good for the league championship. SRA will be in the upcoming CIF playoffs, which begin May 14.

SRA’s leading hitters included Nate Bock (2 for 4, 1 RBI, 1 run); Maxwell Dupree (2 for 3, double, run); Logan Ledesma (2 for 3, 2 runs); and Dominic Zagone (2 for 4, 2 RBI, 1 run). Luke Ehrbacher was the winning pitcher, allowing 3 runs and striking out 6 in 5.1 innings.

In the Division 8 boys volleyball playoffs, Santa Rosa won its second-round game 3-0 over Paramount. The Rangers will play at Temescal Canyon in the quarterfinals on May 6.
