Santa Rosa track team breaks 6 school records at invitational

Santa Rosa Academy’s track team broke six school Saturday at the Saddle-Up Invitational at Vista Murrieta High School. The Division 4 Rangers earned six event medals against Division 1, 2, and 3 schools.

Orlando Landa-Wells earned a medal in the 200 meters (24.07), breaking the 200m school record. He also earned a medal in the triple jump (38-10). Blakely Chatman continued her stellar start to the season with a medal in the 200m (27.51), breaking the school record. LaNijah Burris earned a medal in the long jump (14-8).

The girls 4x100m relay team of Aubrey Layton, Elena Marlow, Jayleen Mendoza, and Blakely Chatman earned a medal in the relay (54.07) and broke that school record. The 4x400m relay team of Scarlett Oakley, Mya Sullivan, Aubrey Layton, and Jayleen Mendoza earned a medal (4:31.24) as well as breaking the relay school record.

Elsewhere, Ben Judnick broke both the 110m hurdles (20.21) and the 300m hurdles (46.18) school records. Anthony Sullivan continued his redemption march to CIF by shattering the discus school record, throwing 123-5.

Blakely Chatman set a record in the 200 meters.
