Families gathered Tuesday evening at Audie Murphy Ranch Sports Park for the Menifee Police Department’s National Night Out, an annual event that brings residents and law enforcement together.
Students received free backpacks, school supplies, snacks and lemonade while attendees visited community booths, met officers and explored police vehicles and equipment.
The Menifee Police Department presented several demonstrations, including K-9 searches, a suspect apprehension and a SWAT response.
National Night Out was established by the National Association of Town Watch in 1984 to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The annual event encourages partnerships between residents and police to promote crime prevention and build safer, stronger neighborhoods.
