A San Diego woman died in a collision on Highway 74 in Perris early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The 61-year-old female, identified by the Coroner as Robyn Gonzalez, was riding a 2019 Can-Am Spyder motorcycle westbound on Highway 74 approaching the 215 Freeway southbound on-ramp about 12:43 a.m., according to a CHP news release. A 57-year-old male from Spring Valley was riding next to her on a 2014 Victory Cross Country motorcycle.
For reasons still under investigation, both riders failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway approaching the freeway on-ramp. Both vehicles traveled off the left side of the roadway and both riders were ejected.
First responders pronounced the female deceased at the scene. The male was transported to a local hospital with apparent minor injuries.
No other information was released by the CHP.
