Menifee resident and Paloma Valley High graduate Gael Villegas won his pro boxing debut with a first-round knockout of Alexander Nakamura April 3 at Pechanga Casino.

After being knocked down for the second time, Nakamura stayed down for the 10 count. The 18-year-old Villegas brought a 65-20 record in amateur fights into his pro debut.
The fight was promoted by Pacquiao Promotions. Villegas, 5-foot-8 and 122 pounds, fights in the super bantamweight division.
