City of Menifee plans lots of community events for Fall season

MENIFEE – This Fall, the City of Menifee is bringing the community together with four exciting events filled with family fun, seasonal activities, entertainment, and more. Mark your calendars, gather your loved ones, and make the most of Fall right here in Menifee.

Haunt Your House – Show off your spookiest decor and join Menifee’s annual Haunt Your House home decorating competition. Entries will be accepted online at menifee.ca.gov/specialevents through Monday, Oct. 12. A panel of judges will crown the category winners, and the community can vote for their favorite house using an interactive map on the City’s website from Friday, Oct.16 through Tuesday, Oct. 20. Winners will be announced on social media and the City’s special events webpage on Friday, Oct. 23. 

Fall Festival – Treat yourself to a night of family fun at Menifee’s annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 4-8 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto College Menifee Campus (28237 La Piedra Road). Continuing the City’s long-standing commitment to Domestic Violence Awareness Month, this year’s event will offer a FREE kid-zone wristband to all who donate cleaning supplies or a full-sized toiletry item to Alternatives to Domestic Violence, a local nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of abuse and supporting families in need. Cash and Venmo donations will also be accepted, with all proceeds going directly to the organization. 

Fall Festival highlights include:

— Costume contests for families, youth (17 and under), and pets!

— Kid-Zone (Free with donation at the Domestic Violence Awareness Booth)

— Community performances

— Live music and entertainment

— Trunk-or-Treat hosted by the Sun City Cruizers

— Food and craft vendors

Día de los Muertos Celebration – Celebrate the sights, sounds, and traditions of Día de los Muertos at Menifee’s Day of the Dead event on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 4-8 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto College Menifee Campus. This family-friendly event showcases the beauty of this beloved cultural celebration through live performances, traditional music and dance, community altars and Catrina Contest, authentic cuisine, artisan vendors, children’s activities with a Kids Zone, Familia Gonzales Car Club display, and interactive experiences for all ages. Honor your loved ones by displaying a traditional Día de los Muertos altar or decorate a tapete for display at this year’s celebration. To participate, email culturalarts@menifee.ca.gov.

Trot for a Cause – Lace up your sneakers for a day of fun and fitness at Menifee’s Trot for a Cause 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at Central Park (38268 Civic Plaza Drive) Join us on our action-packed course featuring inflatables, color zones, and more exciting obstacles. After the 5K, visit the fun zone, grab delicious treats from food vendors, and get resources from health and fitness service providers. Registration is $15 for Menifee residents, plus four canned goods per participants, with all food donations benefiting the Menifee Community Cupboard.
