A pedestrian received major injuries when struck by a vehicle at a Menifee intersection Thursday afternoon.
The 72-year-old male from Menifee was transported to a local medical center, where he was listed in critical condition, according to a Menifee Police Department press release. He was struck by a 2025 Kia Telluride near the intersection of Antelope Road and Chambers Avenue about 4 p.m.
The investigation indicated that the Kia, driven by a 46-year-old male from Menifee, was traveling southbound on Antelope Road and approaching Chambers Avenue when it collided with the pedestrian. The driver attempted to avoid striking the pedestrian but was unable to prevent the collision, police said.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
