Visiting Villa Park scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning to break a 3-3 tie and defeat the Liberty High softball team 7-3 Saturday in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs.
Sydney Pollack hit a 2-run single and Hannah Estrada hit a 2-run double to highlight the inning. Liberty was unable to score in the bottom of the 7th and ended its season with a 13-10 record.
Julianna Romero hit 2 home runs for Villa Park, which is now 16-14 on the season.
Yasmine Lopez and Cameryn Rutkoff homered for the Bison. Brooklyn Rackstraw pitched all 7 innings for Liberty, giving up 7 runs – but only 2 were earned.
