Arthur Stringer of Paloma Valley High School was the lone Menifee area athlete to qualify for the CIF Masters track and field meet with a standout performance in the triple jump Saturday at the CIF-SS finals at Moorpark High School.

Stringer placed 2nd in the Division 1 competition with a leap of 45-10.75. Although that is far below his personal best of 48-3 – one of the top marks in the state – it was good enough to qualify for the Masters Meet on May 23, also at Moorpark.

A top 6 finish at Masters would earn Stringer a spot in the CIF State meet May 29-30 in Clovis, Calif.
