For the second game in a row, the Lake Elsinore Storm lost to Stockton Ports in extra innings at Banner Park Island in Stockton.   On Tuesday, the Storm fell in 11 innings.  Last night, the Storm lost 9-8 in 10 innings.

It was an especially tough loss for Lake Elsinore as they could not hold two leads in the ballgame. The Storm led 6-1 after 2 1/2 innings and took a 2-run lead into the bottom of the 10th inning before losing its 7 game in 11 starts thus far this season.

Storm pitcher Carlos Medina was excellent over his 3.1 innings – giving up just 1 hit and striking out 6 Ports’ batters.  On the offensive side, Storm right fielder Kale Fountain had 2 hits, including a double and drove in two runners.  Storm left fielder Conner Westenburg had 2 stolen bases and now has 9 on the season.

Game 3 of the six-game series is scheduled for 7:05 pm at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton tonight. Pitcher Bryan Balzer is scheduled to start for Lake Elsinore.  Balzer has been supreme for the Storm in his first two starts, giving up just one earned run and striking out 11 in 9 innings.

The Storm returns to Diamond Stadium on Tuesday, April 21 at 6:05 pm.  For tickets, visit tickets@stormbaseball.com or visit the Diamond Stadium Box Office prior to the game. The Box Office opens 3 hours before the game.
