Paloma Valley High improved its boys volleyball record to 11-3 on Friday with a 3-1 victory over Liberty in the teams’ Ivy League opener.
Jayden Estrella led the Wildcats with 12 kills, followed by James Olweny and Easton Zundel with 11 each. Estrella had 5 blocks and Tino Lam Yuen had 4. Estrella had 15 digs and Jhomar Yanga had 13.
Paloma Valley lost only the second set en route to its fifth straight victory. The Wildcats play at Arlington on Monday.
“I think this is a really special team in that we have several players who can get it done for us offensively,” said coach Natalie Beauchamp. “Tonight alone, we had three players in double-digit kills. It’s been a really fun season so far, getting to watch each kid take a turn as the stat leader.
“As good as tonight went for us, there’s still another level I’ve seen them play at, and I’m excited for them to continue to grow as a team. They’re very motivated to push as far as they can go this season, and I’m stoked for the ride.”
