Two runs in fifth inning were too much for Liberty to overcome

Visiting Jurupa Hills scored 2 runs in the fifth inning and made the lead stand up in a 2-0 nonleague baseball victory over Liberty High on Friday.

Jurupa Hills’ Daniel Eaton singled home the only runs of the game. Sophomore pitchers Caleb Lozano and Martin Naranjo were each charged with one of the runs. Lozano gave up 4 hits in 4.1 innings on the mound.

Liberty batters came up with only four hits in the game. The Bison (0-2) will begin league play against Arlington on March 11.
