Coach Deanna Meijer sets up the Patriots’ game-winning inbounds play.
It took a last-second shot to get it done, but the Heritage High School girls basketball team pulled out a 58-56 victory at Chaparral Thursday in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.
The Patriots are now 18-11 heading into the second round, when they will be at home against Saugus on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Izabella Duarte led scorers with 25 points, followed by Trimble with 22. Lewis had 7 points in addition to the game-winning assist.
