The Wildcats improved their overall record to 12-6-5 and will be at home against South Hills in the second round at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Paloma Valley trailed 1-0 until Gracie Garcia scored in the second half off an assist from Sam LaDue to send the game to overtime. Then in overtime, Diaz scored off an assist from Garcia.

“I’m so proud of this team and the way they stayed composed under pressure,” said coach Katelyn Fregosi. “They worked as a team, stayed locked in, and capitalized on their chances in key moments. This group has a lot of heart and refuses to give up; that mentality showed tonight.”
