The Wildcats, who are 2-1-1 on the young season, got first-half goals from Ethan Trepanier on a penalty kick and Sam Camarillo on a one-on-one against the goalkeeper. The second half was a different story, however.

“We came out flat in the second half and mistakes ultimately cost us the tie,” said coach Carlos Duran. “This is our first game with our full roster this season, as about four of our starters were out up until now due to club. It will take a couple of games to build our chemistry, but we are headed in the right direction.

“There is a lot of promise on this team this year. We are very junior heavy with only five seniors this year. We have lots of talent; we just have to work on our chemistry to make it work. Overall, I was pleased with their performance, but there’s still lots of work to do.”

The Wildcats will be back in action Friday at Liberty.
