Menifee 24/7 launches new website, adds staff for better ways to serve you

Yes, it’s true. Menifee 24/7 is on the rise to a greater level of news coverage in the city.

No, we won’t be viewing Menifee from a hot air balloon – although a drone is always a possibility. What began as a small family-owned operation when we took over the site in 2013 has steadily grown in scope and audience. We’re proud of that, but we want to offer you more.

For starters, today we launch a new website with a more robust, modern platform created in WordPress. The new home page of http://menifee247.com isn’t as cluttered and has more flexibility in news sections and advertising slots. Perhaps even more important, this is now a secure website – something we’ve never had since the original website we inherited was built using Google Blogger.

In addition, https://menifee247.com now has a more appropriate mobile version with bigger type and easier navigation for those using their phones. We hope this will make your reading experience easier. And for those who have subscribed to the daily email of posts, that will continue to be delivered to your inbox.

The website now includes a section for non-profits. We have listened to our readers and have provided a dedicated place for local non-profits to promote their businesses. This gives readers the opportunity to learn more about the important work these businesses do, as well as see the opportunity for volunteering for such businesses. If you would like to promote your non-profit on our website, email info@menifee247.com.

Today’s website includes current news articles and a few stories published in recent days. There’s also a search bar to look for past stories. But you won’t find the entire archive of 20 years’ worth of stories here. The conversion was simply too massive for our liking. Instead, we will maintain the previous website of archived stories on a site now called menifee47archives/com. We realize the importance of maintaining an archive of news stories about Menifee that were never published anywhere else. This site should be active in a day or two.

So much for our presentation of the news; now for the depth of our news coverage. You will notice in the next few weeks that some additional names will appear in story and photo bylines. We are adding writers and photographers to cover even more events and add new voices to the lineup. This will provide a fresh perspective and a more complete picture of life in Menifee.

We hope you will appreciate and enjoy our continuing efforts to provide the most accurate, interesting and complete news coverage of Menifee. We’d love to hear your feedback as we move forward. Please email comments to info@menifee247.com or message us on Facebook or Instagram. And if you see us out and about, say hello!
