Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor Athletes of the Month for October at Santa Rosa Academy. Honorees were selected by the coaches of their respective sports and were recognized with a presentation of certificates and photo opportunity on campus.
Freshman girls cross country runner Scarlett Oakley “has made remarkable progress throughout the season and has quickly ascended to become Santa Rosa Academy’s top female runner,” said coach Jeff Morabito. “Her growth and consistency are the result of relentless effort, discipline, and a strong competitive spirit.
“Scarlett approaches every practice with focus and determination, setting the tone for her teammates through her example. She gives maximum effort in workouts, listens to coaching feedback, and applies it with maturity well beyond her age. In races, Scarlett competes with courage and resilience, often pushing herself to new personal bests each week.
“What truly sets Scarlett apart is her embodiment of SRA’s core values: Integrity, Excellence, and Respect. She is humble in success, gracious in competition, and supportive of every member of the team. Her dedication and leadership have made her an inspiration to her teammates and a shining example of what it means to be a Santa Rosa Academy Ranger.”
Scarlett was named Most Valuable Runner in her league this season.
Quarterback Jacob Goode “serves as both our leading rusher and passer,” said football coach Perry Jones. “He has recorded three games with over 150 rushing yards, demonstrating outstanding athletic ability and consistency on the field. A quiet yet impactful leader, Jacob sets the standard for his teammates through his actions, work ethic, and dedication to the game.”
Volleyball player Ashlyn Metz “led our team with dedication, skill, and heart, setting the tone both on and off the court,” said coach Elizabeth Culhane. “Her work ethic, leadership, and commitment have been key to our success this season. Ashlyn’s impact goes beyond her stats; she inspires her teammates through her positivity, determination, and passion for the game. Her ability to lead under pressure and lift those around her truly sets her apart.
“We’re proud to recognize Ashlyn Metz not only as our team’s MVP, but also as the MVP of the league — a well-deserved honor. Congratulations, Ashlyn!”
