Junior quarterback Noah Miltthon passed for 174 yards and 4 touchdowns Friday night to lead the Heritage High School football team to a 34-0 rout of host Garey in the Patriots’ season opener.
Miltthong threw 2 TD passes to Paul Moreno Jr. and one each to Drevion Burnett and Jaden Lewis. Sophomore Dominque Richmond carried the ball 11 times for 110 yards. Felix Gutierrez ran for a touchdown.
The Patriots led 28-0 at halftime. The game was played with a running clock in the fourth quarter. Eddie Gutierrez led the defense with 7 tackles.
Heritage plays at Kaiser on Aug. 28.
Santa Rosa Academy 21, Cathedral 6
Santa Rosa Academy traveled to the desert and came away with a win in their opener. The Rangers are at home against West Valley on Aug. 27.
Temecula Valley 13, Liberty 6
The host Golden Bears scored a touchdown and PAT in the fourth quarter to break a tie and defeat the Bison.
Liberty’s leading rusher was Isaac Ayala with 85 yards. Gavin Ramirez ran for 55 yards and a touchdown. The Bison are at home against Sultana on Aug. 27.
