Paloma softball team improves record to 18-3 with 18-1 victory

The Paloma Valley High softball team scored 16 runs in the first 2 innings Wednesday on the way to an 18-1 rout of Moreno Valley.

The Wildcats had to play out the string until the 5th inning, when the mercy rule ended the game. Paloma is 18-3 overall and 5-1 in the Sunbelt League.

Leading the team’s 17-hit attack were Laura Liera (3 for 3, HR, 2 RBIs), Kayla McGee (3 for 3, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Haily Alarcon (3 for 3, 3 runs, 2 RBIs), and Kennedy McGee (HR,3  RBIs). Kadie Urban struck out 5 and allowed just 1 run in 5 innings.

As they continue their run toward the upcoming CIF-SS playoffs, the Wildcats play at Hillcrest on Friday.
