The Paloma Valley flag football team split its two games this week and now stands at 4-1 in league play (6-5 overall).
On Tuesday, the Wildcats lost a 13-7 defensive battle with Rancho Verde for their first league loss. Mandi Ball passed to Isabella Davis for their only touchdown in a game that went four overtimes before being decided.
On Wednesday, Ball ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more as Paloma Valley defeated Liberty, 27-0.
“The coaching staff is extremely proud of how our girls responded,” said coach Orell Colbert. “Taking a tough four-overtime loss on Tuesday and coming back the next day with that type of effort showed a lot about this group. We’re still growing as a program, learning every week, and taking it one game at a time.”
