Paloma Valley scored a touchdown in the final two minutes, but a missed PAT kick and a failed onside kick attempt left the Wildcats one point short in a 17-16 loss to Temecula Valley Thursday night.
Paloma did get the ball back via a punt with less than a minute left, but three straight passes fell incomplete and the Wildcats simply ran out of time in their home opener. Temecula Valley led 14-7 at halftime.
The Wildcats, who are 1-1 this season, play at Heritage on Sept. 11.
