Gwen placed third in the 200 freestyle and fourth in the 500 freestyle.

“She didn’t get the times she had hoped for, but they were still fast enough for State consideration times,” said Felicia Asbury, Gwen’s mother and the team’s coach. “She will find out on Sunday if she qualified. The State competition is extremely competitive and they only take the top 40 in each event. So we have our fingers crossed and are hoping for the best!”

Grace placed ninth in the 200 freestyle and 11th in the 500 freestyle.

Liberty’s 200 freestyle relay team of Kylie Kaas, Tessa Whitford, Grace Asbury, and Gwen Asbury placed 18th. The 400 freestyle relay team of Celeste Hernandez, Tessa Whitford, Grace Asbury, and Gwen Asbury finished 12th with a season-best time.

“I’m extremely proud of these young ladies and they pushed themselves to the very end to finish the season strong,” Felicia Asbury said.
