The Santa Rosa Academy baseball team scored 9 runs in the first inning and went on to shut out visiting Cathedral City 16-0 on Tuesday.
The first-inning uprising featured triples by Elijah Brewer and Nate Bock and doubles by Brayden Bosy and Dylan Soules. The Rangers finished with 13 hits and improved their season record to 4-3.
Pitcher Max Dupree gave up just 2 hits in five innings of the game, which was shortened by the mercy rule. He struck out 5 and walked 2. Logan Ledesma, Jesse Alday, Gosy, and Soules each had 2 hits. Bock, Alday, and Soules each had 2 RBIs.
The Rangers will play at San Jacinto Leadership academy on Wednesday.
