Paloma’s Brody Williams sets school record at Bulldog Swim Invitational

Brody Williams broke a school record and several other members of the Paloma Valley High boys swim team had outstanding performances at last weekend’s Bulldog Invitational at West Covina High School.

Competing against 30 schools, the Wildcats had a big day. Williams’ seventh-place finish in the 200 freestyle set a school record with a time of 1:55.60. That time also gives him Division 3 consideration for the CIF prelims. Williams also placed seventh in the 100 freestyle with another CIF consideration time of 52.12.

Anthony Spaan placed eighth in the 50 freestyle with a CIF consideration time of 23.64. Kevin Randall was put into the 100 butterfly finals as an alternate and recorded a personal best time of 1:03.29. That ranks among the top 10 all-time in that event at Paloma Valley.

The 400 freestyle relay team placed ninth in a CIF consideration time of 3:40.46. Team members were Spaan, Jack Gallaher, Mason Williams, and Brody Williams.

The CIF Southern Section prelims are scheduled for May 5-9 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
