Pastor Ieesha Sharp was honored by the City of Menifee on Feb. 18 as Citizen of the Month.
Sharp was presented with a plaque at the City Council meeting, where council members spoke of her commitment to the community.
“You have enhanced our community,” Dan Temple said. “You’re married to a Marine and you support the military. I also appreciate your work on the Menifee Interfaith Council.”
“You have a passion for serving veterans,” said Dean Deines, himself a veteran. “You’ve embraced our community and we appreciate that.”
Sharp was joined by many community members who were in attendance for the presentation.
“Thank you to everyone on the board and to my family,” Sharp said. “Fundraising is not easy, but they help me do it.”
A special message from Mayor Ricky Estrada was read to the audience by Acting Mayor Bob Karwin. Estrada, who is on military deployment overseas, selected Sharp for the honor.
“It was an honor to select you,” Estrada’s message read. “Your unwavering dedication in city events and your selfless service to the community provide encouragement and hope for all of us.”
