A Menifee man was involved in a traffic collision that sent a CHP motorcycle officer to a local hospital Friday morning, authorities said.
The 20-year-old male, whose name has not been released, was driving a white Nissan Sentra southbound on Jefferson Avenue near Del Rio Road in an area of Temecula just north of Rancho California Road at 9:30 a.m., according to a CHP news release. That vehicle was within the two-way turn lane when it collided with a marked black and white CHP motorcycle.

The motorcycle officer was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the Sentra remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
