Freshman Izabella Duarte led the team in scoring with 24 points. She made 3 of 5 shots from 3-point range. Senior LaKaila Trimble had 12 points for the Patriots. Trimble led rebounders with 8, followed by Ayzela Cooper with 6.

“I am incredibly proud of our team’s performance today,” coach Deanna Meijer said. “It was a collective effort … every player contributed, including the entire bench.

“We were excited for the opportunity to finally play Liberty, especially since we haven’t played them since their program started. Coming off a win against Paloma Valley last week and now defeating Liberty, my girls have shown that Heritage is a powerhouse in Menifee.”

The Patriots will be back in action Dec. 1 at Murrieta Mesa.
