San Diego Sheriff’s Department detectives have identified a suspect in the Feb. 17 murder of fire captain Rebecca Marodi, who once served at Menifee Fire Station 68.
Marodi, 49, died of multiple stab wounds from an attack in her residence in the 20200 block of Rancho Villa Road in Ramona, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. The suspect in the homicide was identified on Thursday as Yolanda Marodi, also known as Yolanda Olejniczak. The suspect, who remains at large, was Rebecca Marodi’s wife, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman told the Riverside Press-Enterprise and other media outlets.
Olejniczak (right) is described as 5-foot-2, 166 pounds, with brown hair, and age 53. Her current location is unknown.
“The motivation and circumstances surrounding this homicide remain under investigation as detectives work diligently to gather more information and establish a comprehensive understanding of the case,” the press release stated.

Rebecca Marodi was currently serving as fire captain at French Valley Fire Station 83. She had been a firefighter since 1993.
