The girls wrestling team at Paloma Valley High School lost in the quarterfinals of the CIF dual meet championships on Saturday and will now focus on the Ivy League finals on Feb. 8.

The Wildcats defeated Millikan 40-39 in the first round of the duals, which Paloma Valley hosted. In the quarterfinals they lost to Ventura, 41-35.

“One of our best starters, Lynda Guerra, was out due to injury and it was hard to replace her, but our girls fought hard without her,” said coach Luis Robles.

The Paloma Valley boys and girls teams will compete in the Ivy League finals at Lakeside High School. The top five in each weight class qualify for the CIF Individuals (boys at Ayala High, girls at Marina High).
