Three people were transported with none-life-threatening injuries after an early morning traffic collision Wednesday that involved five vehicles in Wildomar, authorities said.
The collision was reported at 1:18 a.m. on Bundy Canyon Road near Oak Canyon Drive just east of the 15 Freeway, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Wendy Brito-Gonzalez. Responding deputies reported that it appeared one of the vehicles lost control, struck a power pole, and ended up in a ditch. Four other vehicles struck the fallen wires and pole debris.
Three occupants of the initial vehicle were transported to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported. Cause of the collision is under investigation and some of those involved have not yet been interviewed because they were sent to the hospital, Brito-Gonzalez said.
Bundy Canyon Road was closed at that point while crews from Southern California Edison and Spectrum made repairs to the power pole. SCE expects repairs to be completed by 4 p.m. and the road to be re-opened at that time, if not before. A total of 55 customers lost power along Bundy Canyon Road from Tulip Lane heading north to Chico Hills Road. The outage extended southeast as far as Oak Circle Drive, said SCE spokesperson Diane Castro.
