The Paloma Valley High School boys and girls wrestling teams wrapped up league championships this week.
The boys team defeated Canyon Springs 35-33 on Friday to claim the outright undefeated Ivy League championship. Earlier this month, the Wildcats defeated Lakeside – one of the top teams in the CIF Southern Section.
Individual results for the Canyon Springs meet included:
106 – William Leyva won by forfeit
113 – Zadikiel Cruz won the forfeit
120 – Uriel Cruz won by fall
132 – Syruss Flores won by major decision
138 – Travis Ledesma won by decision
150 – Brandon Owen won by decision
165 – Travis Coleman won by decision
175 – Javon Major won by major decision
Paloma trailed 33-31 going into the final match when Major scored the decisive victory of the night.
The Wildcat girls team beat Hemet on Wednesday, then defeated Canyon Springs 51-30 on Friday to clinch a share of the Ivy League championship with Hemet and Hillcrest.
