Paloma Valley to host CIF girls wrestling dual meet event

The Paloma Valley High School girls wrestling team will host the CIF Division 2 dual meet championships on Saturday.

The Wildcats are ranked No. 2 in the division and will take on Millikan in the first round. There will be seven first-round matches, with top-seeded Santa Ana receiving a first-round bye. Competition begins at 11 a.m.

The first three rounds will take place on Saturday at Paloma Valley. The finals will be held at 7 p.m. at the school ranked highest in the final CIF poll.

The Wildcats clinched a share of the Ivy League championship last week with a 51-30 victory over Canyon Springs. Paloma Valley has a 5-3 overall record.

Paloma’s boys wrestling team did not submit an entry into the Division 1 dual meet tournament, even though the Wildcats won the Ivy League title last week and are ranked No. 7 in the division. They will rest up for the CIF individual tournament the following week.
