Motorcyclist injured in Jan. 21 collision passes away

A motorcyclist who suffered major injuries in a solo collision in Canyon Lake on Tuesday has died from the injuries, authorities said.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department news release. Deputies were notified of the victim’s death on Thursday.

Sheriff’s deputies responded at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Railroad Canyon Road and Country Club Drive. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike. Lifesaving measures were performed and the victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
