Gracie Ledesma scored 5 goals and Christina Harvey was the Player of the Game with 9 of the team’s 22 steals as the Heritage High girls water polo team defeated Hillcrest 14-4 Tuesday night.
With that victory, the Patriots advanced to the championship game of the Sunbelt League Tournament against Moreno Valley on Wednesday at Riverside Poly. Heritage has already clinched a spot in next week’s CIF playoffs.
Preslee Hart was the standout on defense, according to coach Lucky Stephenson. Paulina Reyes contributed 4 assists.
In the semifinals of the Ivy League Tournament, Paloma Valley lost an 18-4 decision to Riverside Poly. The Wildcats will play Valley View for third place on Wednesday. Paloma Valley has already wrapped up a playoff berth.
