House fire quickly extinguished in Sun City community

Firefighters quickly extinguished a house fire in a Menifee residence Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Crews responded at 2:51 p.m. to the report of a house fire in the 29000 block of Carmel Road in the Sun City community. According to a CAL FIRE spokesperson, firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire at a single story residence.

The fire was confined to a bedroom and was extinguished by 3:25 p.m. There were no injuries. Red Cross is assisting one adult male and a dog. Crews remained on site for about another hour, finishing up.
