The arrest was made at 11:29 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 74 and Palomar Road, according to jail records. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Daniel Rios, initially provided false identification but later revealed his true identity, Menifee Police Department reported on its Facebook page.
From the Facebook report: “Rios was found to be on active probation. A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded, unserialized firearm, 131 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, two meth pipes, and two additional loaded handgun magazines in the center console.”
Rios is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. The vehicle was towed and a gray pitbull found in the car was taken by animal control.
Rios was due in court in Murrieta today to face six felony and two misdemeanor charges.
