Menifee 24/7 honors Heritage High Athletes of the Month

Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor Athletes of the Month for November at Heritage High School. Honorees were selected by the coaches of their respective sports and were recognized with a presentation of certificates and photo opportunity on campus.

Aidyn Hendricks of the boys basketball team “consistently leads his team both on and off the court,” said coach Nyron Jones. “His positive and uplifting attitude energizes the locker room and inspires his teammates. A leader across all levels of the program, Aidyn exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete, maintaining an impressive 3.83 GPA. We’re proud to recognize Aidyn Hendricks as our November Athlete of the Month!”

Girls basketball standout Sierra Maxwell has done it all for the Patriots, who are 10-0 overall. She is currently ranked third in the state for scoring, averaging an incredible 31 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 blocks per game. Sierra recently reached a milestone of 2,000 career points.

“Her hard work and dedication continue to shine, and we are so proud of her achievements,” said coach Deanna Meijer.

Boys soccer player Omar Castaneda “is a hardworking athlete and a true leader, serving as team captain both on and off the pitch,” said coach William Zuazo. “He exemplifies respect toward his fellow players and coaches and has been a key player in securing victories for the team this season. His dedication and leadership make him an invaluable part of our program.”

Girls soccer standout Lexie Jimenez has kicked off the season with an outstanding performance, tallying 9 goals and 6 assists in November. Her playmaking has helped lead the team to a strong 6-4-1 start. In a game against Perris, Lexie delivered 4 goals and 2 assists.

Girls water polo Gracie Ledesma shows “exceptional work ethic and dedication that make her a force to be reckoned with,” said coach Shannon Stephenson. “She has already scored 32 goals and contributed 7 assists this season. On defense, her relentless effort has resulted in 13 steals and 13 earned ejections. Gracie’s all-around game and leadership in the pool are an inspiration to her teammates.”

Jacob Dalton of the boys wrestling team “is a humble and hardworking athlete whose technical skills and sportsmanship shine on the mat,” said his coach. “His relentless determination and respect for his opponents embody the spirit of a true champion. Undefeated this season, Jacob continues to lead by example and inspire his team. Congratulations, Jacob!”

Denisse Alvarez of the girls wrestling team “is a phenomenal athlete and wrestler, tackling her first year in the sport with incredible determination,” said her coach. “She maintains a positive attitude even in the face of adversity and never backs down from a challenge. Thanks to her unwavering dedication, Denisse is improving at an extraordinary pace. With perfect attendance, a growth mindset, and her relentless drive, we are excited to see all she will accomplish this season!”
