Menifee 24/7 honors Athletes of the Month at Santa Rosa

Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor Athletes of the Month for November at Santa Rosa Academy. Honorees were selected by the coaches of their respective sports and were recognized with a presentation of certificates and photo opportunity on campus.

Boys basketball standout Chris Jones has been nothing short of spectacular this season, said coach Thomas Crunk. He has showcased his unmatched ability to lead the Rangers both offensively and defensively. In the month of November, he averaged 27.5 points per game, ranked 14th in California and leading the league. He averaged 9 steals per game, which was No. 1 in the nation. He averaged 5.5 assists per game, leading the league. He also averaged 3 rebounds per game.

"Chris is a special player," said Crunk. "His work ethic and leadership inspires everyone around him. He’s not just putting up big numbers; he’s helping us win games."

With his impressive performances in November, Jones has solidified himself as one of the state’s top players and a key factor in Santa Rosa Academy’s early success this season. As the season progresses, Jones is sure to continue making headlines as he leads the Rangers to new heights.

Girls soccer player Hannah Dominguez has played a key role for her team this season, said her coach.

“Hannah has played every minute of every game so far,” said coach Wood. “She is someone the girls look up to for her leadership and hard work on the field. She is shaping up to be our leading goal scorer with 5 goals already.”

Boys wrestler Lennon Tinahui placed first at the John Rice Tournament at Indio High School. He had to beat the No. 1 seeded wrestler from Paloma Valley to get to the finals.

Bryleigh Delis of the girls wrestling team placed third in two tough tournaments – the Tiger Claw Tournament at Elsinore High and the Shadow Hills Tournament.

Sophomore Madison Flores of the girls basketball team was recognized for her efforts as well.

“Madison’s relentless hustle, work ethic, and positive attitude have set a remarkable standard for the team,” said coach Garland. “Whether she’s making key plays, pushing through every drill, or leading with her energy, her commitment never falters.

“Madison’s drive and determination inspires everyone around her, elevating the team’s performance both on and off the field. Her ability to combine skill with a consistently great attitude makes her an invaluable player. We’re lucky to have Madison on our team; her effort and leadership are truly appreciated. Keep up the amazing work, Madison!”

Dennis Wood of the boys soccer team “is a standout backline player who has demonstrated nice skill and perseverance,” said coach Taylor. “Despite battling through challenging injuries, he has been resilient and determined as he has continued to deliver outstanding performances, showcasing his defensive abilities. His ability to overcome adversity and lead by example is an inspiration to his teammates. It has been an honor coaching Dennis and I look forward to continuing watching him grow.”
