Lesa Sobek continues to lead in the race for Menifee Mayor, while Ricky Estrada now trails by 434 votes with three days remaining until the final vote is expected.
Sobek, the current District 3 City Council member, has received 18,440 votes (44.59 percent), according to an election update provided Saturday by the Registrar of Voters. Estrada, the District 2 representative, has received 18,006 votes (43.54 percent). Both received about 1,600 votes in the new update, and the percentages stay about the same.
The next update will be posted at 6 p.m. on Monday. The final vote count is expected on Tuesday. “Yes” continues to lead School bond Measure R in the Menifee Union School District with 55.79 percent – slightly more than the day before. The measure requires at least 55 percent to pass.
